About

The town of Falmouth in Trelawny is dear to our hearts. Most people who come here and stay for an extended time, don’t want to leave. There is something magnetic about this place that has held me here for almost a half a century.

Falmouth is located on the north coast of Jamaica, 22 miles to the east of Montego Bay and 44 miles to the west of Ocho Rios.

Sadly many have left due to lack of opportunities, but recent developments point to the town exploding into a commercial cruise ship hub in the near future. there is now renewed interest in the town of Falmouth, but that is not what has inspired this website.

I have been making websites for several years, and i am pleased to see the boom in online activity from the ‘not so nerdy among us’. It started with Hi5 and then Facebook in particular has taken everyone’s heart, but when I am on Facebook I don’t feel totally at home, so I thought, why not a Falmouth Social Network? Why not have somewhere we can be at home and talk about the town, learn what is happening, get the latest news and the latest gossip, meet friends. The possibilities are endless. we can share and get help to execute business ideas, contribute to charities, share memories, announce events, sell through classified ads or online store, etc.; not just a boring forum. By the way, FalmouthPO.com will have a forum too.

Another motivational factor was when I got a message from my cousin asking to post on my blog and I got the idea that what if I could have a multi-user site where everyone can get their own blogs? each blog post with a summary will be listed in the activities list so that anyone who uses the site will see each blog post. clicking on the link will take you to the individual’s own personalised blog, a guaranteed audience right away. There will also be provisions for Groups to have their blogs and different group members can write articles.

Each blog will have its own directory at “http://falmouthpo.com/yourChosenName” and good articles will be promoted to the main page for extended exposure. the audience will not be restricted to Falmouth as Google will be sending your articles and the website to the world.

The name of the website of course is derived from our address, Falmouth PO, Trelawny. This website is for everyone in, from or associated with Trelawny, not just Falmouthians. Users can create groups, so you could for example create a Clark’s Town group or a Grass Piece Group.

In a nutshell, this is a summary of just some of the features you will find here at Falmouth PO:

Thanks, i never looked on it that way, but this is not my website, it is Falmouth’s or by extension, Trelawny’s website. It is meant to be built by members, not one individual.

Each person can even have a blog where they can create their own website here, free. Membership numbers and participation is the only way this site can be self sustainable. thanks for commenting!
