Memories of Bob’s One Stop Fried Chicken

February 27, 2013 in History by Postmaster

I was going through some old photos and found this one taken on the 16th August, 2003. It is a photo of Bob, that once popular chicken seller in Falmouth. He became famous locally for (now we know) one of the most disgusting and unhealthy menus: ‘dip inna oil.’ I remember we could buy bread and dip it in the oil used

Dennis Meadows Officially Resigns From North Trelawny

February 3, 2013 in Politics by Postmaster

Former JLP Seator,, Dennis Meadows, officially resigned from the position of Jamaica Labour Party caretaker for North Trelawny. Meadows publicized his resignation through a press release. Meadows has unsuccessfully contested the almost impenetrable pro PNP seat of North Trelawny in the last two general elections (2007 and 2011). Dennis had to overcome the stigma of not being from the parish, yet he performed creditably as a newcomer in 2007. At that time he was defeated by Dr EV Patrick Harris. He remained in the parish, but unfortunately for him and the JLP, he was reportedly hardly seen in the communities.
