___________________________________________________________________________ Ash Wednesday is the Christian holiday that marks the beginning of lent, when Jesus fasted for 40 days and 40 nights in the wilderness. It is a public holiday in Jamaica and is also the traditional day on which the annual Hague Agricultural Show is held at the Hague Show Grounds, about 2 miles from Falmouth Jamaica. Hague Show, as it is called by the local folk, allows Trelawny’s farmers and companies to showcase and sell their produce. Trelawny is second only to St. Elizabeth in agricultural production per parish (no… yam is not the only thing we produce).
